ANNUAL TEXTILE SALE PARTICIPATION

Our Annual Textile Sale is one of the ways in which we present fiber arts to the community. It allows individual artisans to showcase their work and earn some extra money for their efforts. If you are interested in participating, please download and read the Annual Sale Guidelines and the proper forms. If you have any questions, feel free to email the Sale Chairpersons.

Do the terms “block design” and “profile draft” bewilder you? Are you interested in developing new patterns and pushing your loom to new limits? Whether you have a four-shaft loom and want to expand its potential or want to better understand what to do with all those shafts, then this workshop is for you! Through presentation, discussion, and weaving, you will develop a practical understanding of blocks, profile drafts, and how to use them to create new exciting drafts. You will also examine the fundamental building blocks of many weave structures and how they can be manipulated into new designs and open up an unlimited number of new possibilities. Minimum four-shaft loom required. (Note: This is not a round-robin workshop)

Equipment Sale
There will be a brief summary of the equipment for sale and then it will be open to purchase. If you cannot attend, please have someone bid or purchase in your absence. All proceeds will be to NOSSG. |

Swedish Textiles
Lynn Baritelle and Chrysalis Carter will give a presentation on the Textile Tour of Sweden that they took last Fall. They will share their exploration of a variety of Swedish fiber traditions, from loom manufacturing, to revered museums that house generations of costumes and folk-art treasures. You will see linen weaving where products are created for the royal court, embassies, and the Nobel banquet. Other amazing stops include Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum where Swedish traditions and craftsmanship are practiced. as well as a family owned fabric printing business. They will bring lots of treasures for your close examinations. Kom med! (Join us!) |

Don’t we all need to learn another method for adding beads to our handspun art yarns? The first half of the workshop will be dedicated to the fun of corespinning with rovings. The second half we’ll be adding beads while spinning - all in 1 step!
Student Requirements:
• Spinning wheel with a large orifice, lazy kate, extra bobbins & a sense of humor! • Advanced Beginner – should be able to spin without headache or breakage. $30 Materials Fee Includes:
